Was going to go out today. Went with my parents to Compass Point to get a new pair of specs made. It's black again. But it's black and red. And it looks freaking cool. Haha. Shall take a picture next time. Black and red also easier to match. There was a yellow one, bu hard to match with other stuff. Couldn't find a brighter one I liked.
After than went to Cold Storage to buy stuff for baking tomorrow. It's a fairly simple one, that I've done twice before. XW likes it so, we'll go for it. Decisions, decisions. Bake what? What kind of cake? What kind of cupcake? Just settled for an easy one. I'll bring along a huge frozen pizza too.
Anyway after I brought the stuff home (need to put the cold items in the fridge), I suddenly didn't feel like going out. Went out anyway, and realised my Country Story trees would ripen in 45 mins. THAt made me turn around. Stayed home, FBed, and COMPLETED PORTAL. Yes. Finally. After enjoying and inventing all our random jokes and references for the past 2 years, I actually completed the game. Can't say the same for 3 others though. Kudos to XW for trying. =)
And so I played Portal till I forgot the time and forgot to osund the horn too. But hey, cake! Hmm. Tomorow got a lot of stuff to bring. Presents, cheesecake, vodka, pizza. Rar. Need to prep some stuff soon. Plus I have driving in the morning. 930. Wake up at 830 le. Back home, bake.
Musing, rants and observations from life around me. May contain a lack of verisimilitude.

Didn't do much today. Woke up late, went online, did stuff till evening. I got Portal! Played it in the zhng com. Nice! Hahaha. Finally after the game became something of a cult item between us, I get my chance to play it. AFTER having fun with all its related things. Then left for PS to meet XW at about 6. Apparently the movie we wanted to watch was very popular too. It was highlighted in red, and sold out. (Or so we thought.)
So we went down to Cathay where it was marked 'rad' and not loud but sold out, as compared to PS, so we went back for the earlier timing at 9pm. Apparently, at GV, red just means selling fast. =.= So we got 3rd from the front, which was ok. Some of my friends have issues with sitting in the front, but I find it ok as they would have taken this into consideration, and 3 is just fine with me. Now 1st row corner...that may be a pain in the ass. Or neck, if you prefer.
1st row is just a huge screen, but viewable. It's not going to be like a freaking imax movie. Speaking of imax, I'm reminded when I was thrown up upon in an imax theatre. Bloody bugger. =.= Now I remember what it feels like to have a boomer spew on you. But that's a story for another day.
The movie was not bad! Quite funny. Haha. Then we saw this actor who looked VERY familiar...think, think, think, some funny guy...like adam sandler...but no...AAH CHUCK! IT'S CHUCK! Then we started silent screaming in the theatre. AAAAH CHUCK! CHUCK! Hahaha.
After the movie we called ben to tell him we saw Chuck, then went to Starbucks at Cathay to play with my iPhone until about time to take the last train and left then. Tomorrow need to buy ingredients to bake, CHEESECAKE!

[UPDATE]
Cut my hair. It's ORD hair now. =) Got my iPhone back. ORD phone too. Heh. 43 more days. By the end of my break, 30+ to go. RAWR.
---
Driving today was okay. Felt just like before, thank goodness. But with more confidence this time. Because, fuck it, I HAVE to make it. After wasting money on my first chance, I have to make this one count. And parking will be without poles from March onward. Gasp. A little confidence seems to go a long way I think.
Came home, nothing much else to do. Been thinking of a haircut. Maybe I'll go down Compass Point earlier just for that. Cut it a little shorter so I can make it through the last 44 days. Plus, that dumb high slope crap looks like shit (Come to think of it, of course crap looks like shit) when your hair is long. Need to ask them to get rid of it so it doesn't look so weird.
Ran out of stuff to do. For the first time in my break I have nothing to do but several activities to choose from. Hmm. Getting my iPhone later. I feel hungry though.

[UPDATE]
Did I mention the USB hub is going to make me a hit with the girls in uni? Cos it's damn cute! HAHA. I just took it out of the box. Shall take pic and upload on my FB via iPhone tomorrow. My mobile upload album shall be my random pic album too!
---
Back from Desaru. Still kinda tired. Plus stuff has been piling up till today. Freaking sian. Especially after I couldn't finish some of it due to being overseas. Right. Desaru first. Woke up really early, and took my uncle's car down to my aunt's condo. We were late, so we practically flew down the expressway.
Reached, boarded the bus, and went down to M'sia. The Liar Game I had hurriedly converted the night before didn't go through properly. =.= So only halfway. Went for breakfast as some kopitiam. Felt weird to be back in M'sia again and see the usual scenery. Lunch was surprisingly good.
After expecting to be back in Singapore, within the blink of an eye, M'sia again. Went to visit a fruit farm, took lots of photos, then an ostrich farm. Ostrich omelette which could feed like 18 people but tasted rather disappointingly, like well, eggs. Ostrich satay that tasted like satay too.
Went shopping at a place like IT fair with a lot of booths. But with food and stuff in those booths. Like a shopping center that can't decide whether it wants to be permanent or not. Dinner was very similar to lunch. Went to watch fireflies. It was near impossible to take pictures of since the light emitted by them was only visible to the naked eye.
However it was all very nice and the trees looked like xmas tree! I sorta visualized floating into the midst of airborne flies, but I guess it doesn't work that way. Too bad we couldn't go closer. It's probably as good as we can get to an Avatar-like world where the forests look like Las Vegas at night. Lol.
Next, went home. Customs was kinda irritating especially when you're so tired. Took lorry back. Been a while since I rode an open vehicle. Lol. Meh. Ok at least one of my things is settled. Was supposed to have to go back camp to write my testimonial and stuff, but thankfully someone did that for me already. Lucky I got through after asking around.
And...got driving again tomorrow. Feeling kinda sian though.A bit disillusioned with the thing, and need to pay quite a lot. Need to try and get though with it and finish it off. =.= Wish me luck. Haven't driven in like 2 months. Was going out for dinner with tak and ben, but ben can't make it so it's off now. =( Was kinda looking forward to it.
Tak says she going to pour a bottle of cold water over ben cos he 'puo leng shui'. That's nice. We can have a wet t-shirt contest! I'll be the judge! =D Hahahaha. And need to stay up late to collect my tree spirits tonight. Driving at 10. Rawr. Kinda sian my break is ending soon too. I want my iPhone.
BTW, Christmas list countdown:
Received 4 gifts from relatives this year. Funny how gifts seem to like, decrease in number each year? When you were a kid they used to be a veritable hill of gifts, like the Mount Everest of toys. Toys in really large boxes. You'd need like 2 huge plastic bags to cart them home. Now, it's just a meagre collection of a few odd boxes. WHERE ARE MY MISSING GIFTS? WHERE'D THEY GO? WHERE'S THE MYSTERY I CRAVE? GIVE ME MY MYSTERY!
Numero Quattro: SOCKS. I know Dumbledore sees socks in the mirror of Erised/Desire. I am NOT Dumbledore. I am not a really old wizard who has seen enough of the world already such that the only thing he craves for is a pair of socks. That's just sad. No socks. =( I wouldn't have issues with them if they were ankle socks. Then, no one would see them. These are 2-cm away-from-football-star-socks. 0.5 star.
Number Three: Polo tee from Hang Tee. Sigh. It's L. I wear medium. Sorry. This Large is really kinda LARGE. Plus, I prefer t-shirts, polo tees sometimes, shirts occasionally. The frequency I wear them is in just that order. Plus, it's Hang Ten! And it's a plain white (polo) tee. 0.5 star.
Number Two: Candy! This candy is special. It's Japanese and it's sorta like rock candy. You know the colourful crumbly kind at that store in Central which slices them into wee little fruity designs. (e.g. watermelon?) This one, they make the shapes out! slices of watermelon, orange, apples. It's all nice and cute. Granted, it's not permanent but it's something nice. 3.5 stars.
Numero Uno: A 4-port USH hub. NICE. This is one of those gifts that you never knew you wanted till someone gets you one. They probably got lucky here, but guessing I like tech stuff and hoping I don't already have one paid off really well. IT's in a shape of a human! Cute. It may travel with me one day. But it's a good idea. 4.5 stars.
Don't worry, I won't rate my friends' gifts. That's mean. Lol! Anddd...that's a t-shirt from Uniqlo from my aunt but I kinda cheated on that. Oh there's 2 red packets too, so...=)
Kay. My xmas money all went to paying for my next two driving lessons. Sigh.

Merry Xmas dear readers. Another year has come and gone. (I'm saying that and it's not even the New Year.) I remember spending last year's Xmas eve in camp doing duty. That sucked. Big difference this year. Xmas eve was coming back from Ipoh. =) Anyway the xmas event which was labeled on the 25th was reconfirmed as being on the 31st.
BUT..I felt that well, it IS Christmas today. And it wouldn't really be the same without anything. So I threw together an impromptu thing, courtesy of my now-unlimited SMS. Sorry Ben. It just didn't feel right if we didn't at least meet up for something simple, like dinner. So we met up at the usual celebration spot, Vivo Marche. =)
Went on FB in the morning to check up on stuff. 80+ notifications! Wow. Didn't have time to clear all before I rushed off cos I had a movie at 2. Reached the LRT, found out I didn't have my wallet. =.= Rushed back again to get it then back out. Thus forgetting my camera. Sigh. Pity because today was a great day for photographs.
Went to Vivo to watch Sherlock Holmes, which was pretty cool. It was a nice movie. =D After that, walked around a bit. Found I couldn't make a reservation at Marche, but there wasn't much of a queue. Guess the rain helped. =) Appealed to the rest to come earlier if possible because we needed a minimum of 3 warm bodies* to pass the entrance. *-(0.5n, where n is the number of people arriving.)
I wandered around Vivo to kill time, then lingered outside the door to wait. Tak and Kenneth came early enough to play some arcade games first. Well, at least they msged me just as I was getting bored and the queue appeared to be growing. Went to the other end of the roof to find them.
Joined the queue and waited. XW came in after. We managed to get seats at 1915, 15 mins earlier than our allocated timing! That's the benefit of being early. You get better seats and don't have to queue as long. Later on when we looked out, the queue looked like a dramatic reenactment of the fabled McDonalds Hello Kitty Lines.
WJ joined us soon after. Val was playing hide-and-seek with her wallet at home and would be late. We ORDered first and and carried on as per usual. Discussing the making of babies and such stuff. Val came as we finished dinner, and grabbed a bite too. Later she wanted to go accompany her gay friend who was heartbroken because like I said(and predicted they would say): "All guys are bastards."
(Of course I said that with the same conviction I would say: "All girls are sex objects." So, go figure.)
Tak and Kenneth had Sherlock Holmes to catch after that, I was probably going home, XW prolly going WJ's place. Then I thought of something nice. But I couldn't use that thought. So I did something nice. I gave it away. (Possession by Spirit of Giving, anyone?)
I noticed the windows had fogged up cos of the rain, so I said to Kenneth:
"Hey, why don't you go out there and write something on the glass for her? Wouldn't that be great?"
"Eh. Nice idea. There's a very good idea."
"Ah? See? Great right? Quick, before she comes back!"
So he did just that. And WJ was on the inside making fun of the 'asshole' 'vandalising' the place. Hahahaha.
So he drew his stuff, I took the pictures, and we returned to our seats. WJ left to draw a (starts with 'p' and ends with 'nis') on the glass before wiping it away. He noticed someone copied his idea, only they did it to another table. =X
Tak returned, not noticing anything, and we started looking at the glass. Then she saw. Aha. Of course that wasn't the moment to go Aha! That was my idea! So I just kept quiet. I only posted it here to show how awesome I am.
I KNOW that not posting it would be even MORE awesome and modest. But frankly, if it makes you MORE awesome but no one knows about it, is that awesome at all?` Not really.
So...I guess not all guys are bastards after all.
`-(Something, but not quite like if a tree falls in the forest but no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?) Don't you agree it was a great idea? Pity I had no one to use it on, so I had to give it away. To think of such nice stuff but no one to really appreciate my ingenuity. =(

Later accompanied Val to meet her friends at Clarke Quay. It was a nice place. Pity I didn't bring my camera. They were nice people. =) One was mildly high. Haha. That was fun to watch. anyway I left at 12 and just missed the train. Took cab =( Going Desaru tomorr,w need to wake up at 6. Ughh. It's just some mega-family roadtrip and everyone's getting all excited about it...

Didn't have much time to blog yesterday. Going for dinner at 7, fishing at 8. Will update more if there's time but have to see how. Need to wake up early too. Hope I can squeeze in some stuff first.
Morning we left the hotel to board a van to go to the whitewater rafting place. Took about...40 mins? We waited for our safety brief and drew our equipment before getting ready to set off. The first activity of my Civilian Conversion Course! This is how civilians cross a river.
We lifted the raft up ("Civilian Raft up!") and carried it about 200m down to the bank. There was a little metal bridge there and our photographer took a kayak down. The guide pushed the raft into the river and then we got in. It was quite a fun experience, but they also made us get wet first. Which is good I guess. At first everyone is dry and still (for some inexplicable reason) trying to avoid the water, myself included.
Then the guide splashed us with water and told us to get off in the river. Everyone was soaked and ready to be more liberal with the water. Got back in and pushed off. We paddled forward and back, shifted to the back when we got stuck and went through the rapids. It was great splashing fun. You just go down, BOOM and the spray just engulfs you.
There's a command: "Boom boom" in which everyone will get in the raft, hug their legs and hold on tight as we cross the rapids. Well after the first few relaitvely fun rapids we came on the biggest drop of them all, something called Easy Drop. Well this baby was the hardest of them all here, and could be considered normal on other courses.
We paddled onward, steering our giant pointy blue bag of air towards the jutting rocks and the frothy white water, and into nothingness. Just earlier, we had seen the other raft go over the edge and disappear form our sight as though someone had installed an express elevator in the middle of the river.
[To be continued...]
[Gosh it's really late...need to wake up early tomorrow. Don't think I can complete by tonight.]
1...2...1...2...we paddled toward the drop. "Boom boom!" Slid into the raft, tucked our feet up, and held on to the line, a cable running round the edge of the boat. We approached at an angle and my corner went first. Bumped over some rapids and downnnn we went. Hit the water, and a huge amount of it rushed over the bow and into our raft. We literally went into the river. As the raft thrust up again, I got yanked out bodily, somehow maintaining my grip on the line above all things.
Water everywhere. In my face, my eye, my nose. The spray of the rapids was still all around me and I kept my tenacious hold on the cable as the forward motion of the boat threatened to suck me under. Hanging on with one hand and my body dragging behind, kept afloat by my lifejacket, I thrust my other hand up over the edge, and sebas tried to pull me in.
The guide came forward and grabbed me in, and they managed to get me over the edge. I came aboard slightly shaken but relieved to be out of the water, albeit shot 1 paddle and two sandals. They were yanked away by the current. One of my first thoughts was of sadness because I wouldn't have sandals for the rest of the trip.
But by some miracle, these free sandals which my mum's friend gave her actually could float. They happily bobbed up to the surface, two white and blue rubber flaps, where they were picked up by the other boat. They and the paddles were returned to me after. The whole journey was about 7km, so we went through a few more rapids.
Soon we came to this place where we had to get out. =( Yes. To body raft, which is to lean back, and kick with our legs, using your life jacket to stay afloat. Well, we had to do that for about 15 metres, but the problem is, as the end of that section, we had to somehow get to the other side of the river, where the boats have been moved. And that's when they had to break out one of their rescue equipment.
[TBC]
[WHY NO ONE WANNA COMMENT? =[ Anyway ytd hotel no internet, so I'll continue.]
Yup, so I body rafted down the river...down down down...and reach the end point. I was still going down but had no idea how to get to the other side. They used the safey rope and tossed it to me. Yay. At least I got my money's worth. But man, someone like me who can't swim properly going on a trip like this...especially whitewater rafting. It was fun but still, feels crappy compared to everyone.
Next, we went back to the hotel to wash up, and then headed for dinner! Travelled to this stretch of street with seafood restaurants and the prawns as promised by val, were HUGE. Like bigger than your fork HUGE. The food was quite nice.
THIRD DAY. Went caving. Cave was huge. Lots of funny rocks. Tour was crappy. Guide spoke Malay. So we were like uhh, let's just look at the funnny rocks. Actually it wasn't much different from much of the other caves I've been in. A rock is a rock. a funny rock is still a funny rock. No Batcave here, no severet labs, no secret evil villain missile silo. Ok the last one is probably under a dormant volcano. BUT. Yeah, after the first few funny rocks and the first 200 stairs, we were like PANT PANT wah...shag OHH cool rock! Oh. More stairs.
And we took the grand tour which was the FULL package and included wet parts. It's ok just that I felt it's a little too long. At least we got value for our manoy. Afterthe dry tour, we splashed through what felt like 37 underground rivers, and squeezed under, in between and over rocks. Certain areas required you to like lean back onto all fours and turtle walk/slide down the steeply sloping rock.
One area, you really had to slide down like WHOOSH. The guide told us one by one, no pushing, and slide. it was like a 2 storey drop. I pity the first few guys. They had to slide down into nothing with noone to support. THUMP. for us, we slid down till we hit a ridge, shifted a little, WHOOSH all the wya till someone supported our feet, grabed our hands and slowly slid us down the rock.
Then everyone crowded round this little hole in the ground. It looked like the most viable way forward. Ever play Pokemon? Remember in those caves when you saw this little black hole that led to the darkness? This hole was just like that. We really had to pass through that hole. Fortunately, the bottom was quite near. So through it, a short drop and into a river.
We finally came to a hold out into the open where you saw tree and jungle and stuff. I thought finally it's over. Now If they'll just lead up back to the buildings...but NO. It was only the halfway rest point. Kenneth slipped, fell off a ridge and into the river here. Ouch.
We went back in after, back down a similar path, and struck the tour path with railings and concrete. We went beyond the railings onto rocks and hit the above mentioned "rock slide" and hold in the ground. We crawled under rocks and into rivers. Finally we got really wet. Some areas, there was just a HUGE rock on top and a tiny crawlspace AND a river underneath. So down onto all fours, crouch lower, and in you go. Front got soaked, but cos I folded my berms into FBTs, my pants were mostly dry.
By now we were simply following the guide one and just seeing stuff. I felt the tour was too lnog because instead of being interesting, all you see is rock and now you're just following the guy ahead of you out. Was nearly out already when I stepped on a slanted rock, whoops, down, partly on my side. Continued. Finally reached the exit. Daylight. I stopped to wahs the sand out of my shoes. Bent to put one show back on, slipped, THUMP on my butt. Great. Cos the rock was wet.
Next, back to the van and then to waterfall abseiling. Anyway we were late cos the tourtook very long. =\ Had lunch then went over. The waterfall was really nice. Too bad I had no one to take a photo with. Or for me even. So took one by myself, for myself. Did flying fox. It was not very far, nor very fast. See because the waterfall's water is not clear, but brown, and the heavy rains raised the water level dangerously.
WJ says you can go for it if you have a deathwish. Well, sometimes I'm in the mood but nah, not today. After flying fox, rappeled down a rock face. Well. I didn't do the jumpy thing because we didn't have gloves. PRETTY MUCH forgot until he reminded me. Yeah. You need gloves. Thank God I didn't do it. Walked down the rock face. =.= Not that fun cos I did the jumpy thing in primary school. Did it once only. Fell to the side once, grazed my elbow. We all got a few cuts.
Went back to hotel for dinner then took vn to go fishing. It was a rip off. As in, you throw the line into the water and you just rip off some seaweed. =.= The guys got really excited about fishing. WJ sounded like the Fishing Guru in Pokemon: I LOOOVE FISHING! DO YOU LIKE FISHING? YES NO? lol. They went to buy bait and the 'fake fish' too.
Well, got there, took some nice photos but they decided to give up cos the water surface will covered all over with seaweed. =.= Strangely, I'm not into a lot of common guy stuff like fishing. Or soccer. =\ We went to this roadside durian stall and we had durian! Well, THEY had durian. I took pictures. Not a fan of it. Lol.
FOURTH DAY. Supposed to go beach. But our transport screw up. Apparently the van broke down. We woke up early and waited for 2 hours for nothing.=( Went to this mall instead, cos no one felt like going to the beach anymore.
Ate at Secret Recipe. And...this year we sorta cheated at Xmas presents. it was kinda hard to expect the success of last year to be repeated, particularly when I had so little time and less luck. =X So bought our stuff and decided to leave. Our repleacement transport was 2 cars. 6 of us wanted to go hotel, 2 (Val and YH) wanted to go beach. And well...1 car can't go beach then hotel/vice versa because it's REALLY FAR. Like 1 hour away.
So I decided to sacrifice and go with them. Then seb too. On the 1hour drive there, it rained. we got there to find a replica of East Coast Park. But with a pasar malam selling truckloads of cheap t-shirts, keychains, and sea-related souvenirs. (Think shells, lots of them.) Tacky tourist heaven! I got sand in my sandals. I know the word 'sand' is in them but still...
Went back to the seafood place, tried a new restaurant. Had the same big prawns again. Yup. Got back to the hotel to find out some things went wrong. Tak went to hospital because of food poisoning. They didn't have travel insurance. (actually none of us did.)
XW fell into the pool, and got a rather big scratch on her leg. =X We should have claimed compensation for that. Haha. Then when we were in the corridor discussing these event, val turned around and banged her leg on the wall. I was like: WHY IS ALL OF THIS HAPPENING? WHAT'S WRONG WITH ALL OF YOU??? TAK GOES HOSPITAL AND XW GETS CUT AND NOW THIS...WHY ARE ALL OF YOU GETTING INJURED! Hahaha.
XW came over to play the ARR game =P and then we watched Liar Game. Told you it was nice. =D Could sleep in today morning, so we did. Our last day here also involved a few activities.
LAST DAY. Went to Kellies Castle in the morning. It was a magnificent strucutre left unfinished because the owner died. =( It was a nice place to practice all my Assassin's Creed moves. Haha! No wonder people in the past were assassinated so easily if they had hand- and foot-holds all over their walls. Anyone with balls enough could do it.
Still, I took a lot of nice pics at the castle which was a nice looking place still, and quite interesting to visit. Pity the weather was so hot. Next visited a Chinese temple. Wasn't really interested. Lots of statues and stuff. Took a few pics. Saw a winged horse and WJ climbed on it to take photos. Haha.
Since I figured that the winged horse is not a Chinese mythology figure,(probably) it should be alright to clamber atop it and take photos. And so I did just that. Oh BTW the horse has balls. I took a picture of them. Ahem. After the temple, went to Oldtown White Coffee for lunch and then the airport.
Well...Val, Yh, Seb and I were inside the restaurant. The other four, for some unfathomable reason were sitting outside in the afternoon sun on the kerb. And someone (As in really someone, cos I dunno who) wanted to go to the airport. So we did. We reached there early. It was hot. =( If we'd stayed at the cafe, we would have had aircon, drinks, and a sofa. And not had to wait for close to an hour(?) to check in.
Anyway, the departure lounge had aircon, thankfully. Flight back, we couldn't buy duty-free alcohol. WHATTT? Highly disappointed. Was looking forward to getting another bottle of vodka. zz. Well...took cab home unpack. and that's the end of my journey. Off to tag photos. =)
They had to slide down into nothing with noone to support. is in Ipoh now. (Holy shit I really typed that? That's so Facebook! HAHA. Just noticed after typing 5 paras) I want to type it iPoh, like in iPhone. HAHAHA. Yup, I miss my iPhone. Anyways, went down to the airport where most of everyone was late, (no surprise there) and met with XW, Weijin, and Ben. Went down to budget terminal to meet Val and YH. Then Tak and Kenneth came. After checking in our bags and the usual stuff we do, we had to leave ben as we entered the departure area.
Val bought a bottle of Vodka because YH's birthday is in the middle of the holiday. Was quite surprised when I saw the plane. It was. Tiny! Lol. I'm not used to taking such small aircraft before. SIA FTW. But it was an interesting experience nonetheless. It was a small two engine prop, which could seat say? 80 to 100? Took the 1 hour 30 mins flight.
A small cupcake (actually quite nice) and juice was provided. I was separated from the rest so I had to sit by myself. The seat next to me appeared empty, and we thought it was ben's but somehow they gave it to someone. No one to take pictures for me so I took pictures of myself, for myself. Everything on the aircraft is self-shot. I must say I am pretty good at it. Been using this camera for so long, I know what's the reverse position. (You narcissist, you. Lol)
Couldn't really join their conversation or find out what they were laughing about, so I listened to my MP3 for the most part. And watched the sky. Closed my eyes to rest to. Here are a few highlights. By myself, I discovered the existence of a rainbow which we quickly passed. (Only shot one barely passable photo of it, that's how fast we passed it.) Highlight #2: The propellor on their side of the plane stopped completely whereas the one on mine continued spinning. Probably to provide power for taxiing? Bet no one noticed that. Highlight #3: Still Alive came up on shuffle! But XW was on the other side of the plane so I couldn't get her attention.
Highlight #4: I can't find Fireflies by Owl City on my MP3! (I miss my iPhone!) After finding out our carrier was Firefly, that song's been stuck in my head and I need to listen to it! It's like a Jockey in L4D2. Lol. Highlight #5: There's surprising legroom on the airplane! I could kinda stretch out my legs. Highlight #6: The seats can't lean back. Highlight #7: I'm still wondering about air turbulence. How can there be vaccuums in NOTHING, which is surrounded by AIR? As you can see I had much time to reflect on these and many other minor mysteries of the world which have baffled scholars for years. Such as, why isn't Fireflies in my MP3?
Next we entered arrivals where the customs official asked if whether my laptop was new or old, and if it was mine. =S Got a cab booked for he hotel, and took a really long journey there. Haha. drivers there will occasionally enter Burnout mode in which they go for Oncoming bonus and Overtake bonus.
The hotel actually looks quite nice, but it somehow seems like the entire neighbourhood/town sprouted up around it. That's the funny thing about M'sia. The huge disparity. On on hand u can see little wooden houses, shacks, abandoned buildings, and patches of new will appear. New buildings in the middle of the old, all clustering together for safety against the rotted Elder Houses. IT like development is irregualr and random. Same with the cars. It's uniquely Malaysian. Haha.
Anyway, finally reached the hotel, after a brief unexpected stop at a gas station. Everyone(esp WJ) is a little on edge and cautious. This isn't the OK corral, but it ain't the best part of town, pardner. For me, (no offence intended) other countries seem to be brimming with untold possibilities and endless fun. A lot of the scenery here is kinda old, tired, and dusty.
I'm getting along fine with Sebas I guess. I mean, the issue here is not whether I can be social or not. That, I can do. Getting along with someone new is ok. But well at last it's not me in a room with three strange guys. That sounds like a setting for some gay porn flick. HAHA ok not funny. Dinner is at 7. I forgot to bring my PSP charger and HP charger. Well at least I have the internets. Sebas is playing his PSP. Lol.
There seems to be a counter for the internet usage. I'm at 45 mins now. The allocated limit appears to be 1440 minutes. That's a day? Should be ok. 6 hours per day. HAHA. After dinner maybe we'll walk around the area, though Sebas says there's nothing much to see. Gee without my internet, there's not much I can do here. Sigh. BRB, go out walk.
---
XW and WJ were nice. They remembered me. Or rather my situation. So since they were going to lock our passports in the safe downstairs, they asked me along for a walk. So we did, and sebas joined us. It was ok I guess. Better than being cooped up in the room. Blogging now and he's watching TV. This place has a very fake/artificial feel to it. Like it's all a show for the tourists.
The european styled terraces, open squares, al fresco dining and neon lights, all belie what feels like a false paradise undeneath. The place is not BAD. It just gives off a fake feeling. The houses are right off a set in England and the whole place is like someone airlifted a small English village and dropped it in the backwoods. The illusion breaks up once you get to the edge of the village.
It just seems like those theme park villages you see in other countries, only in this one people actually DO live here. It's like the whole village sprung up around the hotel. Anyway at 7 went for steamboat dinner which was...alright. Their service was kinda slow and we had to ask twice for some stuff, like soup refills.
Other that we did have fun talking and joking. Haha. Like I said, it's not that I have problems socialising, its that sometimes it feels like I'm on an holiday with 3 salt particles. Ionically bonded NaCl. Which when you think about it, IS the case. But what do I expect? Of course it turns out that way. I guess it helps that it's not me+3 anymore. I know you guys will definitely have fun. Tomorrow, whitewater rafting. Need to bring an extra set of clothes. And I hope eveything turns out ok. I'm not that good with water. =.=

Didn't blog yest. Been pretty tired these few days. Sleeping late and waking up early to go out and stuff and spending the whole day out. Haha. Pretty fun but it takes its toll on you. Jeez my computer is FREAKING slow. Zzz. I seriously need a new one when I do uni. Or I'll probably kill myself. FUCK. Can't even watch the video. Bullshit. Need new laptop. This one is shit. Run Chrome and MSN RAM at 99% WTF.
Ahh. anyway Friday I woke up early to get my iPhone but my family was taking their own sweet time. =.= We reached the shop at 1135 and I got my phone at 1245, which was just barely enough time for my to get to the MRT. Reached Vivo a little late and we missed like the first 5 or 10 mins of Avatar. That's how far I was pushing it. Still, at least I got my iPhone now. I will miss it alot when I go m'sia.
Anyway Avatar was pretty cool, quite epic. Haha. I like 3D movies. Too bad some people don't like it. =\ Then walked around vivo and bought a rear cover for my iPhone. I wanted a mirror screen protector! But the cover I got came with one. So I used it. Originally the protector had some tiny bubbles when I pasted it on, but after I removed the 2nd layer, they magically disappeared. And the protector looks quite nice, if I do say so myself.
OH SHIT. THat wasn't the protector. And the protector is now spoiled. =.= Irritated. A good free protector spoiled. Well at least it was probably cheap to make in the first place. Asked ben to order the mirror protector for me. Now I can get what I want I guess. Thought not exactly in the manner I intended. Back to Friday. Watched Bodyguards and Assassins which ws pretty cool, if a little dramatised. But pretty cool indeed. Then went back to settle my iPhone. I LOVE IT.
It's so AWESOME. So pretty. So responsive. So sleek. So fun! It's really like a huge leap forward in the series of phones I used. THe texting function is so different. I feel a little lost in trying to figure out some stuff but it's so interesting. Got a lot of free apps. Kinda miss it if going M'sia, but I don't dare to bring it.
Anyway, slept late once again, woke up early to go down to airport. Met Tak and kenneth, then ben then XW. XW was caught in the rain to I lent her my jacket. Her wet jacket has little sequins on it and it looked like it had pieces of Edward Cullen's flesh embroidered on it. That's what I said. LOL. Went budget terminal to look for val.
The supposed Han's is actually a 'Hanis'. What a rip-off. We're not going there anymore. So much for budget when the food is pretty expensive. I'm spending a lot this month. Sigh. What with my phone, going to restart driving, food and movies. After that went Tamp, and collected my phone. It works now. But is sadly overshadowed by my iPhone. LOL.
Just need it itll I ORD. Lol. After Tamp, went home to charge my iPhone. One day out and it's at like 45% left already. I guess that's one drawback. Along with the unable to change the SMS tone part. Hmm. Need to wake up early to go down to airport again tomorrow. Lol.Probably sleep at 3 plus again.

OH YES. Today was my last day in camp, except it was quite shitty. Thanks to me foolishly picking up a call from the office during my weekend (KNS), I had to do weapon escort today. Disturb my break. That's it. That's the last straw. They can forget about contacting me by phone for the rest of this year. And I mean it. I'm not going to answer any of their calls. Nothing good can come out of it. Originally it was another guy but he had a medical appointment, so it turns out I was the next unlucky guy to be selected.
Bloody hell. Damn unlucky can? After that guy and out of so many choices, I had to be the one. Well, that does it. You just used up your last Phone-A-Friend helpline buddy. You all can go find someone else next time. Tiong, you owe me big time. I already wrote OVERSEAS LEAVE in all CAPS and underlined. Try to disturb me at any point for the next two weeks I'll just tell you to screw off.
That's exactly thereason I took overseas for that whole period. That's the safest way to go off and protect yourself from being harassed. For once I'm going to sit there and grin at my phone while it rings. And enjoy the ringtone. Also point it out to any friends around. Hoho.
Anyway, we were also roped in to help out with IPPT unexpectedly this morning. DAMN. I KNEW I should have taken off these two days. I considered for quite a while but didn't. Now it ends up so much shit is flying our way from the proverbial Fan People Throw Shit At. Couldn't take it, so I decided to take off this friday.
Had to wake up very early and get drenched in the morning rain to help out for the IPPT. In the end the results were void because it still kept raining and the run couldn't go on. Went back, rested in bunk, then had to change. Brought LBV too. KNS. MY last day in camp this year gotta do such stuff. Drew arms, escort a veritable zombie killing arsenal to another camp. Except these arms couldn't work and were sent for repair. We could probably club the zombies to death with them though.
Sat in the guardhouse there and waited for hours. Oh, since we left at 10+, we didn't have lunch too. =.= Lucky the guardhouse there had extra rations. If not how? Huh? No lunch for us? Finally left at 230. Got back, changed and rested. Meanwhile, the other guys form our batch were called up to meet someone in the afternoon. They ended up going to NUS to shift stuff. o_O I don't know what either but the festive arrows seem to be picking up despite the xmas season.
Suppose it's just as well I got out of there as soon as I could. As for the rest, I suppose they have also finally had enough. They decided to go off too and return on Mon. Haha. All scared off le, avoiding the arrows. Wonder what if someone wants to shoot us tomorow and finds us not around le. Haha. Serves you right. Don't call me. Don't even think about it.
Anyway once I got home, I went to Tamp to go and see if I could get the backlight on my phone fixed. Estimated cost, $80-150, probably $120. =( Sigh. My mum offered to pay for half but I declined. It was my fault anyway. Oh well. Expensive. Thankfully there wasn't a queue too. I suppose it's just as well cos the e51 is a really good phone and I hope to use it for my reservist next time.
Went Uniqlo again. =D Was with my mom and sis. I bought a yellow t-shirt. Helped my sis find a green one. It's her favourite colour. Haha. After that went home. It's boring because for some strange reason, almost noone is online tonight. Is there some event going on that I don't know about? =\ Boringgg.

Dragonboating. Sun, concrete, and a tragic boating accident. Drama on the high seas. Anyways, went down to Kallang and met Ang Hong. Went to the place by crossing this wide 4(or was it 6?) lane road to get to the other side. Vaulted this green barrier with bars sticking out the top, which for a moment put me in fear for my own...safety.
Managed to do so with a little difficulty and also thankfully without impaling myself. Got there, complained about the weather. It was freakin' hot. Also quite a few people were late. The scenery was quite nice but it was still freaking hot. Then after some basic instructions, we set off. At first it seemed like there were going to be too many people, but we managed to fit everyone in. =( So I got in the last boat. I was in the bow. I have also mentioned my dislike of large bodies of water.
So we had some basic lessons, and if you just do it nice and easy, you don't really have to exert yourself, and the view and experience was quite nice. But that was because the sun went behind the cloud for a while. Once it came out, it was scorching. I now have sunburnt arms. Thanks SAF for the increased risk of skin cancer. Touch wood. Actually touching it now. My table is wood lol.
But after the initial funness and new experience, it started to get a little monotonous. and tiring. I got half wet because I was on the right and water was splashing around. Well at least I had a really nice view from the bow so I guess I was kinda lucky. Paddled around for a while and the hard strokes were really tiring. Okay that sounds really wrong, so moving on...
The final event was a race. Between three of our boats. The race started and we had a slight lead, which we maintained till halfway when the second boat kept catching up. One reason was probably because we were at an angle to the finish line, instead of heading for it.
It was also because we were at an angle that we were heading straight towards the second boat, now catching up. Imagine a dragonboat of 22 army guys paddling as hard as they can, powering towards another boat with another 22 guys paddling as hard as they can too! I noticed the collision course and I think others did too, but we just kept going. Maybe we thought that we could turn in time? We didn't.
So we paddled with our arms tiring and our boat slowly lost power, but not speed, ripping through the water of the Kallang River (I think.) The other boat cut straight ahead, gaining on us. They steadily cut across our bow and we were headed right for their side. Going, going, gone. I watched the distance steadily drop to zero. I don't know if the guy with the rudder wasn't experienced enough or couldn't do enough to change our course.
So with us paddling still, (It's a competition remember?) WHAM we hit the other boat broadside. At an angle, we hit them somewhat in the middle, full-force and our boat went up and over theirs with an awful grinding. The people either scattered or were shoved clear of the deadly path and I was right at the front of it all, being in the bow. Our boat went forward, even past the other side of the boat, before stopping and sliding back off.
We rocked back, dead in the water, some still pretty stunned by what just happened. As the stricken boat drifted slowly past the buoys marking the finish line, a lone voice drifted across the water...
"Does this mean we win?"

Today didn't start off great. I was roused from my sleep to partake in a mask run. Urhhgh. For the uninitiated, this does not involve putting on a hockey mask and chasing sex-crazed hormonal teens around a lake with a machete. (Much as that would be kinda fun... )This was putting on a gas mask and running around in camp for over 20 mins.
And...I haven't put on a gas mask and run around in camp for a while. =.= Anyway after, we were tasked to do some work. When the person said "I challenge you ar..." I had to hold back the urge to shout, in the finest HIMYM tradition, "CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!" Hahahaha. Yup so anyway, we did it, we completed our part of the challenge and got to book out as soon as we were done.
However, thanks to some people dragging and delaying and general lack of communication all around, our supposed lunch outside broke up and I ended up leaving a coupla hours later than expected. Sigh. Oh well. Also, I didn't get access to the internet all day so I couldn't harvest my crops. Rawr. When I got home however, all was better cos I had my internets! =D
Evening just went Compass Point with the family, and we bought a new luggage bag for me to go M'sia with cos we don't have a small enough one. Lol. Need to finish off packing soon.

[UPDATE]
MEH. Ran out of stuff to do. Said stuff includes idly shooting my Nerf gun at the whiteboard on my table. Pop. Thunk. Hunting mousies on FB don't count, because it's every 15 mins. What do I do in the 14 mins between? Everyone is offline/outside/at work. WMP on shuffle. Trying to pass the time at home. Need to book in later. Hopefully can leave tomorrow evening cos there's cohesion on Wed.
Speaking of cohesion. Dragonboating. Huh. I can think of better ways to spend my day. Well yeah I can see the cohesive part but I don't envisage getting wet, salty and sweaty with close to what, 40(?) guys in a testosterone-fuelled manliness challenge as being a fun way to spend the day.
"Hoo-ah! Let use our arm power to propel this really long phallic-like vessel through the water, beat the other team and down a whole bottle of steriods, and beat the other guys again. ROAR. Fastest giant phallus, I mean dragon boat first!" Geez, fine whatever, I know the organiser was from dragon boat but can't we just have a simple bonding session and go bye-bye like we always do? No fuss, no hassle.
Sure I love being manly and all and beating other people. But me and large bodies of water? No-no. Me no likey. Yes I suck at swimming, which is why I treat the deep end swimming pools with the same caution one would accord to an angry Mrs Tiger Woods. Oh and they proudly proclaim the buffet after is mostly fried rice. With more fried rice. And a side of fried rice. Lolwhut?
And no one seems to have any issues with it. Seriously? AH well. Just look forward to the end of the activity. Off. Wait. If it's on a Wed, then need to book in at night again? Great timing. =.= Crap I have a couple of open wounds on my foot from where the skin has cracked form being too dry. Maybe I'll mutate into some aquatic dragon or something. LOL.
---
Went to see doctor. I think the tree outside grew a few more age rings throughout my visit. Reached at 8, left at close to 10. Thank goodness I ran into my friend (haha what a coincidence) too, so we talked while waiting. Time passed rather quickly. Haha. Didn't get MC, but got some cream for my feet. It's NOT foot rot. It's eczema. So, yeah. And annoying because if u give me creams and don't give me MC, I still might need to wear boots and shit and clomp around. =.=
Oh, and apparently we need to write our own testimonial. For ORD. Yup. With no template or guidelines or advice or previous references or samples or whatever. Not even the length is specified. Honestly, can I like say I rescued 9 people and a baby from a burning building while on my way to camp and then lifted up a car which also happened to be burning to save a pair of kids?
Gah. I'll try to come up with something. Based on nothing. As in no references. Not nothing nothing. Booking in tonight. But most likely booking out tomorrow night. Hmm...I'm rambling. Better get down to work. =(
---
I very nearly, NEARLY, typed 'equipments' in the testimonial. What is happening to me? Staying in here really makes you stupid. I see 'equipments' a lot inside. 'Gentlemens' too. Shingz.

[UPDATE]
I also don't want to complain so much. I don't like it either. I hope this will be my last post on the issue. For now, I'm unhappy. Let's make me not unhappy. Work with what we have, shall we? It's hard to change the situation now, but we'll can see what we can do? Or else I can just (Emo) There and Back Again (Ooh! LOTR reference!), not like I haven't had enough practice in that area.
Oh, and let's not forget the most important lesson the SAF can ever teach anyone.
SUCK THUMB.
---
Stayed home. Played computer. Nothing much. Val called. So we're ok about it. I won't really stay mad for long, I guess. =) Went to Tamp to check out Uniqlo. A lot of the stuff I want is out of stock DAMN. Or out of the size/colour. Sigh. Should have gone by earlier. $9.90 Parkas! In recent news (Read: I just found out), one of the empty slots in our Lord of the Rings Party has been filled up by another of val's friends. ("A new challenger has arrived!!!") I STILL CALL DIBS ON GOLLUM. XW also looking to fill up one. I say, go ahead.
I mean why let me, just one(1) person affect the trip for 8 other people? Apart from the fact that I'm separated from my friends, alone in a room with strangers on holiday, you guys should all just have fun! Enjoy being away from Singapore in a while, release the stress from the exams, (Though I believe tak doesn't have any left thanks to her TW trip lol) and have fun with your (boy)friends! I will help take pictures of you guys. =D
I've already packed my clothes. I don't think I'll be bringing my video camera since I think it's kind of troublesome (Which I strangely never felt before on other trips. =\) Anyway, since we're going to be doing loads of activities and not sightseeing or shopping, don't think we'll need it much. I fear my MP3 running out of battery juice. Sigh. Sadly it can only be charged via USB.
Its not that I don't want to make friends. I can do that. Just that I'm not thrilled with the arrangements. I'm like relegated to IC of the Random People Storeroom. Hi! You want to sign out 1 friend? Ok! Write the quantity here, name here, and sign here! Thanks! OH! You're signing me out! I didn't expect that! I know I'm not very happy, but you guys just oughta have fun. I'm just one person. Go on, shoo.

Ok! Write the quantity here, name here, and sign here! Thanks! OH! You're signing me out! I didn't expect that! I know I'm not very happy, but you guys just oughta have fun. I'm just one person. Go on, shoo.

TiK ToK by Kesha is an awesome party song. RAWRRR. Sigh. I wish I were at Zoukout. Yeah. Wish. To think that I WAS going to go. If not for that fact that they never bought my tickets. And I was informed this afternoon. You find out 7 hours before you can't go ZoukOut because they never bought your tickets because they didn't have enough cash. What about NETS? And they ask you to go buy on the spot.
SIXTY FUCKIN' EIGHT DOLLARS. FUCKIN A. Forking out 58 was a pinch because we didn't get the early prices. And now you ask me to go pay 68 while everyone pays 58? Yeah, I know I said NVM. BUT OF COURSE I MIND. Frankly I am ROYALLY PISSED. The only thing more royal than it is the frickin' Queen of England, kay? DAMMIT. I HAVE GOT TO STOP SAYING NVM. I REALISE I SAY THAT A LOT. AND EVERY SINGLE FUCKING SOUL TAKES ME FOR GRANTED. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Fuck, man. EXPRESS YOUR DISSATISFACTION.
Oops, gotta cancel. Nvm. Sorry, I so and so. Nvm. Can't make it. Nvm. Nvm. Maybe next year. How about maybe NEVER. Huh. Fine. Maybe it's better I don't go. I'm just going to be some extra guy again, what with you and your friends. Yeah. Forget about it. I'm sure you'll have more fun without me then. Awesome. Huh. To have everything turned sour at the last minute. To be stuck at home after anticipating it. After our discussion. All comes down to my listening to Windows Media Player and everyone frolicking in drunken revelry and loud music on the beach. Sweet.
Yes, I am not happy. I really am. If someone went out and purposely decided to find the best possible way to spoil my mood further (if that's even possible) for our trip, congratulations. You just found it. To be anticipating this for the past couple of weeks and for it to be spoiled at the last moment.
To a smaller extent, it's like Timbre too, which I've been looking forward to since the beginning of the week when you asked. But it can't helped. So, nvm. (There. I just said it again.) And the cancelled dinner on Thurs at Rasa Sentosa, but I still get off for it, so fine, whatever. Canceled, canceled, No ticket.
Sigh. I know I'm angry. But never mind. Nothing can be gained by blowing this up. I can't believe I'm saying this but let's just put this behind us. I just needed to vent. OR. Maybe I'm just letting this go too easily. I don't know. Sometimes I think I'm too forgiving. All I know is that this is fucked up.
I hope you had fun.

Ah, ok, what just happened? Hmm. Ah. A proper post. Okayyy, woke up, went down to PS to meet XW for lunch. OR brunch. HIMYM people like brunch. =D Hahaha. So...somehow we became very confused people and walked all over the place before (indirectly) getting to the places we wanted. Had lunch at the food court. I had no idea Ajisen Ramen closed!
After that, wandered around a bit and went to the Build-A-Bear Workshop. Discussed the prospects of getting a bear for Tak and putting the cat mewing sound inside. Or putting the dog bark into a hello kitty. Hahaha. Or putting the sound into a present and shaking it hard until it mews. Then we went to Carrefour cos XW wanted to buy Nerf guns. We got the small $6.90 one. The first few mins were fun. Then somehow XW's gun worked like the one in District 9. It stopped working for her but not for me!
Somehow her gun was malfunctioning, or her pumping technique was wrong( if that's even possible) cos the air kept escaping. Anyway Nerf guns are pretty fun. Hahaha. -Goes on Nerf shooting spree @ home- After that went 313 but Uniqlo was crowded. I still wanna check out the sale. =( Maybe tomorrow. Tmr I'll be packing my bag too.
After 313 we went to her tkd place and then I took train home. Played a little bejeweled, and that's about it.

[UPDATE]
My aunt dropped by for a surprise visit. She drove my dad and I to Great World for dinner. Thai. Then drove by Orchard to see the decorations. The streets were really clogged with cars. So far back until they blocked the junction in front of us, and we couldn't move forward. Total gridlock. Worst jam I've been in ever. People were really liberally using their horns. Haha. Just like in the movies.
Tis' Christmas again!
Good cheer is in the air.
Tis' Christmas again!
Festive lights everywhere.
Cars fill up the street,
You hear several horns blare.
Traffic is at a standstill,
and the night lights wink.
We're going nowhere in traffic,
is that Santa I think?
We cruise the streets of Orchard,
passing the bright facades.
The streets are packed with people,
camera flashes that fade.
Taking memories of each other,
memories for theirs to keep.
Joyful faces on all,
posing everywhere.
Looking at them from inside,
Don't you wish you were out there?
---
At home. Hunting mice on Facebook. Trying to think of stuff to do. Meh. About Timbre today, so......? Hmm. It's kinda busy week. I'm trying to take things slow because even I'm confused by the amount of things I have to do. Here's my to-do list.
Urgent -Important
Pack for M'sia! (Flying off next Sat. Next Fri got time? =\)
Renew PDL! (Essential for the below)
Call Driving Instructor to schedule lesson! (Can't call too late cos need to book)
Urgent - Not Important
GO OUT ENJOY MY BREAK!
Not Urgent - Important
Visit Doctor(I have a slight rough patch on my hand from idunnowhat.)
Zoukout! (Saturday)
Win that girl in Mousehunt! (How come she can catch up with my pts so fast!)
Not Urgent - Not Important
Hmm. Doctor+ PDL + Instructor prolly on Mon cos I'm going to polyclinic/post office to renew and see doctor. Zoukout, find out timing to meet from val. Pack my bag...hmm. I give XW a call see how. Busy busy busy. Everything is linked here and there.
There are times when I simply hate all of you bloody FUCKTARDS. Why don't you just take your left hand, and fucking SHOVE IT. Eh? How does that feel, asshole? As in literally, with your hand up it? Then with your right hand, GO SCREW YOURSELF. Seriously. You may think you're better than all of us when actually you brought this on yourself. I know I'm better than you. I don't need to say it because my actions have shown it. The fact that I never mentioned it at all only further goes to show that. FUCK OFF.
Ok now I feel better. People these days. Phew.

Figured I'd get back to blogging. Yesterday I messed up bad. As one of the bus ICs, I directed the bus to the wrong place. Namely the carpark before the actual carpark. In my defence, my visibilty was limited on the bus, and I mixed up small cramped carparks full of cars. They both looked the same! And it was the first time I ever took that funny route to that camp. Oh well. They say the organiser was friggin' pissed , but I think it was okay in the end. =X
I wonder how Caucasians feel about us speaking like them. Somehow when speaking to them, our mish-mash English accent comes off sounding really weak and inferior to the Queen's English. Feeling embarrassed, and in an attempt to sound better, we try to speak better and sometimes end up seeming like we are trying to speak like them. (Though that may not be the original purpose.) Especially when it's overdone.
That comes out worse then if you speak normally. =X It's also like a parody or contorted version of English. Speak better, but don't overdo it. But it's really amazing how many people do it. We all try to sound more refined when speaking to them because with theirs in perspective, ours sounds sloppy. And when we improve ours it sounds...implacable. There's no distinguishable accent. Because we aren't English, or American. It's SeEnglish. Zhnged Singlish with a new haircut and better clothes. Just some random thoughts.
When weended our duties, we went Raffles City to eat. Stayed till 8, then went home, changed and went out to meet XW. Watched Ninja Assassin at PS. It was hahahaha. Cute.
Ninjas! Assassins! Ninja Assassins! Ninja Stealth(Totally awesome.)! Ninjas VS the Army! Ninjas VS Ninjas!(Whoa!) Ninja VS Ninja Grand Master! Ninja Shurikens! Ninja Teleportation! (Everything gets a +3 bonus to coolness when the word ninja is used. Ninja.)Ninja Force push! Ninja Wolverine-style regeneration! Ninja quickstep/Shunpo in Bleach/Faster than human movement. Bleach Bankai!(Ninja style. This means no epic dust storms, gale-force winds, flashes of power, over-the-top explosions, force blasts. It's stealth.) And non-Ninja people with hearts on their right side. Ninja. Cute. Ninjas need to watch Zombieland. Doubletap. Or, Doublestab. Left, and right.
Oh and before I forget. Ninjas fighting on a main road. Yeah it's at night but they're disrupting traffic! People see them! You don't SEE Ninjas! It's not Ninja. And Ninjas getting knocked down by cars. Not Ninja. -Shakes head- Ninja throwing stars all over a car. Ninjas aren't supposed to leave traces. And can't you guys hit a big moving target, like a car better? But the Ninja VS Army scene was cool. Haha. It's like some of the greatest elements in culture. Ninjas, Soliders, Pirates, Cowboys, Space, Zombies. Like...Ninja Pirates and Space Cowboys take on Zombie Soldiers. Or, Zombie Pirates and Cowboy Soldiers take on Space Ninjas. Mix n match. Haha!
Ahem. Right. After the movie we tok cab down to Zouk and headed to buy alcohol. I suppose it's good that we decided not to go after all. Why?
1, it's a Wednesday. This means half of everybody will be coming. The other half will probably go Butter.
2, all the JCs are having their Proms! Wow. All the overdressed and underpartied will be making their way down. Underpartied are those who decided to choose this for their virgin experience to club.
3, POP loh! All those new privates will be coming here to Water Parade and Knock It Down. Some probably until they fall out. Or rather, down. Hoho. Actually, I think no self-respecting guy with that kinda hair will want to go there. But then again, they probably have had their self-respect either surgically removed, or forcibly ripped out months ago.
So, we went for the chill plan, nad it actually was quite a decent one! We went to That Place to acquire our liquid entertainment, and headed to behind this hotel. Can't rmb the name. It's beside the river and is nice. We saw lots of prommy people and it was quite rowdy, so we went further down. Seems quite ok cos it's lighted (less ninjas) and near a restaurant with a few people. It's a nice windy spot with a bench (very good; +3 bonus to niceness) beside the river and under shelter! OH and the restaurant mention earlier is open late, and we can use their bathroom.
We spoke to ben over the phone and then we started drinking and playing poker. Haha. It was actually quie fun! Lucky she brought cards. =P We should do that again. Then XW got high and couldn't walk in a straight line. Lol. We wandered to the place where we saw the prommy people and a security guard shook our hands. Maybe it's an ages-old ancient technique passed down from the old guard to the new guard(pun fully intended) to test our drunkeness. Apparently we passed. Lol.
We walked further down and then found an open tent with soft chairs and a fan! It belonged to the restaurant We just went in and sat down. Haha. And got even higher. XW spilled nuts all over the floor lol. Then we decided to find toilet again and wander around trying the lighted doors. One hotel refused to let us use. I tried to use the Force to open a door but it failed. =( Then we found the original toilet. Then sent XW to WJ's place in a cab and then got home. With my prize! Half a bottle of vodka.
Woke up feeling a little quesy. Probably too much vodka and too little food. Drinking water didn't really help much, but some warm food kinda did. Lol. Did nothing much else but hunt mice. =( My dinner today got cancelled! Oh well. Looking for people to go out with.

Nothing much today. At last we didn't have to go down. They refitted the cues in the mess with new tips! =D Nice. Anyways I was supposed to go down to RCCC (Raffles City Convention Center)but in the end they said one of us could opt out. After much delibaration, I decided to. Well although I could go out, and go town and also have dinner outside, I would be in Smart 4, doing stores, and spending money. So I finally decided to heck it.
Turns out, they got no-move time till 7, which means they could only leave (for camp!)at 7, whereas I could just leave at 1730 and stay out till tomorrow. Guess I made the right choice after all. Now just going to go RCCC tomorrow around 1, do my job, leave in the evening, and meet XW in the evening to go out! =D Thurs got dinner in the evening, then Fri is off hahaha. Rainnie, Timbre how? =D
One more thing...ben is not going M'sia, which I just found out today. I know it's now your fault. So...like 9? Great. We make one pretty Lord of the Rings party now. Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippin, Legolas, Gimli, Boromir, Aragorn, Gollum. Bendalf fell into the Mines of Moria. I'd like to call dibs on Aragorn, him being the good guy and all, but I'm not really feeling it. More of like, I don't know, Gollum perhaps.
Only, I don't have a precious(sss). What I do have is a magnificent suite with two complete strangers with whom I am not in the best of moods to make friends with even with the original arrangement. Well, I can lug along my camera equipment. You can pay me in fisssh. We likes fisssh. Gollum take picture for fisssh. Click. Yeah I'm making jokes, but this doesn't mean anything.
Seriously. Great. Just when I was halfway up the greasy uphill marble slope on to convincing myself to try and enjoy it. It's not that I don't want to. It's just that it's really hard. See now, you have someone. They're your boyfriends. You've known them for what? Months? Years? You have each other.
I have nobody. I don't know those guys. I'm staying with them for a week. They're GUYS. (Like I haven't seen enough for my past 1 year 8 months.) You guys are in ANOTHER room. With someone whom you'd rather spend time with. I see you all probably once or twice a few weeks. Like I said, just when I thought we could spend some good time together...Where does that leave me?
Am I being unreasonable now? Tell me. I come expecting a nice holiday with my closest friends and end alone up in a room with two random guys, with the rest of them shacked up two by two living the life. I don't want to kick this up. It's not good for us. I really really REALLY and I MEAN IT don't want to. But I don't know. I just don't. I want to say fine, I'll just live with it. I'll try. No promises. But are we going to sweep this under the Rug of Problems or are we going to address it? Though I'm for the latter, we can probably do jack shit, amirite?
I not going to be mean, I don't want to be mean, I hope I wasn't mean earlier. If anything offends, I apologise for it. Because I am not entirely pleased with the proceedings. If anything, maybe my emotions got the better of me. I'm just trying to say how I feel about all this. Which is, not very happy. Still, I get the feeling I going to hear "We're sorry you feel that way but we can't really do anything about it, so, sorry."

Forgot to blog. Haha. So Sun (which felt like a Sat) i met Ben and XW at PS. I brought my laptop cos i needed to harvest my crops. Did so at Macs while waiting for them to come. I knew people would be late so i left a little later. Lol. We went to eat at Cafe Cartel. My sis went overseas so i didn't have my camera with me. Haha. It's nice to have good friends who watch the same shows as you. We spent the whole day making HIMYM references. Lol!
I kept referring to the little cubes of margarine in the cups as cheese! Well, they're small and yellow! And cubed! Too much Mousehunt. Lol. We had a little extracheese margarine(if extra can be defined as 4 whole cubes) so we gouged little cavities in the bread and tucked them in. Margarine bread bombs! We went to look at Nerf guns at Carrefour, but didn't get any. It's like a mini Nerf armoury.
Then we went 313@Somerset because Ben wanted to look at laptops. Wow. In the 4 years since i bought mine, about the same price can get you 8 times more RAM and more than 12 times the memory. I may be considering getting one from outside before i go uni. The specs look really tempting. We went around a bit. The Uniqlo had a queue size usually reserved for limited edition stuffed cats sold at a certain fast food outlet.
Anyway i wanna go Uniqlo this weekend. They got SALE! =D We followed xw into a clothing store and i came up with two funny HIMYM worthy quotes. Lol.
Upon seeing a really baggy and shapeless...item, i pointed it out to ben and asked: Is this article of clothing?
Further down i saw something interesting. I spread it out to see something vaguely...pentagonal in shape. "So...where does the head go?"
Haha. Anyway we soon made our way back to PS cos they both wanted to play DDR. I had thought of buying a new laptop mid-2010. I mean, it the world is going to end in 2012, let's end it with 4gig RAM and Win7 Ultimate. Oh yes, we invented a new word! Haha. But it should be kept secret for now. This guy at the arcade was mean to xw, but we think he just enlisted, so THERE. Hahahahaha n00b. Should have knocked him down.
Booked in later that night. Zzz. Went to the same place again. Only this time we skipped the stores part. Anyway we're NOT EVEN GOING TO BE THERE on the actual day. Went mess. Played pool. Watched TV. They seriously don't even need us. They still insist on making us come. We're not gonna be there, geddit. Fuckers. Irritated. We bring the vehicle there and back. There's nothing for us. What a waste of manpower. Shit planning.
And the new specs just came in so they might be able to use them. Damn. Thought we can not go on the actual day and you'll not have enough people. See how you DIE. DIE. DIE DIE DIE. Basket. Tomorrow going down again. Wake up early for this shit. Wasting our time only. Huh. Still thought i was helping over. Turns out it's just lousy use of resources. Must endure through tomorrow. Can't wait for Wed.
I kept referring to the little cubes of margarine in the cups as cheese! Well, they're small and yellow! And cubed! Too much Mousehunt. Lol. We had a little extra

K sat on the plastic chair staring at the rain. This was kinda therapeutic. The rain came in torrents, vicious winds driving it across the parade square in visible sheets, rippling across the flagstones. Sheltered under the grandstands, he enjoyed the cool weather and the chill breeze as well as the spectacle before him. Watching the wind chase the rain across the ground, expending its anger into..nothing.
Okay today REALLY was a ... day. Though I'm not at license to fully disclose everything, especially on FB, I suppose I can give a general outline here. Booked in at 6 plus today, vecom (veh. commander) the vehicle to Pasir Laba Camp. Was an hour journey. Got there, helped unload the stores, set up the stores, that's it.
And then...that was pretty much the end of out part. Because we're mainly playing a support role, all we did for today's practices was to sit there and watch. Just like that my Saturday is gone. Afternoon, it started pouring heavily. Not just cats and dogs but pretty much the whole Singapore Zoo came down.
The effect was hypnotic. Instant sleep atmosphere. Wish I were at home, but alas I was on a grandstand facing a parade square with nary a bed nearby. Well, nary an accessible soft bed for that matter. Tried to curl into a comfortable position to sleep and found some small success. Pass two hours this way. I guess the weather helped numb the uncomfortable position .
Fortunately the weather helped us end early too and we manged to leave with quite some time to spare. Managed to go home and change before leaving to meet Ben XW and Rainnie at Chomp Chomp. Had quite a good time. Haha. Looking forward to hopefully more of such stuff, especially after two more months. Lol. These are the little antidotes to the stuff in life. Zombieland Rule #32: Enjoy the little things. Like friends. -Ahem- Hint hint. -Wink wink- -Nudge nudge- -Poke poke- Okay, so the last part wasn't part of the quote. But still..

The usual. I think by the time this time period is up I'll have invented 50 new way to say "The same old thing". Lol. As usual. Played quite a few games of pool in the mess today. Kinda off form. Need more practice. Lol. May be able to buy a new cow in CS again. I need more tree and stones! =( I can't really harvest cos I'll be hogging the com for others. Tak if you got extra can spare me some? =X They as usual, dragged the preparation of RO. Till 6 plus. Den wasn't even sure when the guy reading it would come.
Anyway while some of them got to boo kout for their normal weekend, I need to go back to camp early tomorrow. Commandeer a vehicle to another camp. Part of the "helping out" thing I mentioned. SO need to leave my houe at 5. =( Well I guess at least I stay near. So I can stay out. And also I'm one of the few people doing it. Can't decide what to bring tomorrow.
I hope we can wrap up early and get back to camp in time for me to meet Ben XW and Rainnie for dinner. =X Cos if it drags on and we hit the no-move time for SAF vehicles then we'll be bogged down till 9. Rawr. Better not happen.

Same old. Day by day rolls by and i'm just waiting for time to pass. Sleeping helps. That way, when you wake up, it's almost afternoon and half the day is gone. That and Facebook passes the time. Only need to endure a little more of this before i go for my course. Doesn't help that my fan suffered spontaneous component failure. Guess i should be thankful it's the end of the year now.
Tomorrow will be Friday. But i can't go home. Not overnight at least. Because we're helping out with something on Sat. =/ Hoping to clear a few days of off but it doesn't seem possible because of the aforementioned helping out. Oh well. At least time is passing by. Wait for my holiday. Learning driving end of this month. Then need to find a good job in Jan. It's such a waste to wish precious minutes of my youth away, but it's a waste to want to prolong them either. Lost youth can never be recovered.

A lot of things are easy. Some things, not so much.

Nothing much today. Hangingo ut at the mess. There isn't much to do anyway at night. Got surprise arrow today. apparently I was supposed to commandeer a vehicle (damn that sounds cool) to refuel at another part of camp. Thing is, I wasn't informed. The guy just went and submittedo ur names without the common decency to inform us first. =.= Ass. I was only told 5 mins before. And I was going to sleep! It was such nice weather...
Ended up waiting at a little shelter behind the building as they refueled two vehicles one by one. One at the Shell at sengkang, the other far far awya at another camp. Damn I wish I had been able to go. To be outside for a while is a breath of fresh air. I waiting for over two hours which felt like forever. Eventually made my way back to camp. Uhh. Not much else.

[You know, this is inappropriate but I kinda like this post. Not the content obviously..just that you gotta admit some parts are funny. Lol.]
Did more of the same today. Nothing much going on. We need to talk. Rightfully the four most scary words in the English language. Yup. I've been thinking about this for quite a while, but have always put it off until now. The thing is, I am not very excited about our holiday. Sigh. To me, 'I am going on holiday.' is just a statement, not enough to evoke any kind of emotion. I thought as the date approached, my mood might change, but I guess not.
Originally when we were discussing it, I thought it would be an 'us' thing. Great for us to have some proper time together. Then the Boyfriend Brigade came along, which I'm fine with. Then 2 more new people. And then it's not us anymore. It's The Lord of the Rings Visits Malaysia with a party of 10. And no Ring. ("Who brought the Ring?" "I thought you had it." "What? I thought YOU did!" "Oh no. Nonono...everyone check your pockets!") It's not that I violently object or anything. It wouldn't be polite for me to object in the first place. But it's just not 'us' anymore. Not to me.
Well I suppose the key thing is to not spoil it for anyone. So even if I'm unhappy, the show must go on. I'm just one person. Let's put a smile on that face. :D Normally when going on trips I'd be quite excited to bring my video camera. But now I'm not too sure. Not too sure whether I want to go to so much trouble to record something I may not really enjoy. Well I can be the invisible man in every picture. The guy behind the camera. That way you have to tag me in every one. Ha-ha. Ok. Not funny. Because that would be cheating to hit the 1,500 picture count on Facebook.
Not to mention I have unresolved issues, but who cares? Right? Right? Break a leg!

Sorry I'm shallow, Dorian. I used to disagree with you. Which was why I refused to use this quote. But now...I'm starting to think you may have a point.

'What has the actual lapse of time got to do with it? It is only shallow people who require years to get rid of an emotion. A man who is master of himself can end a sorrow as easily as he can invent a pleasure. I don't want to be at the mercy of my emotions. I want to use them,to enjoy them, and to dominate them.'
